Important Information & Hunting Rules:

Checking-in times for our overnight guests is 14h00 followed by the hunt the following day. After checking in
the hunters will be escorted to the shooting range for the sighting of rifles. Hunting times are from: 07:00 with lunch in between (at a cost) and hunting ends at 16:30. This is for both day hunting and overnight guests.

During the advanced stage of the hunting season, heightened awareness among game animals due to frequent passing hunting vehicles and the fact that the animals rarely approach within 100 meters, the following hunting prerequisites apply:

On arrival at the shooting range, rifles must be checked for accuracy at 100m, but meeting this accuracy threshold alone does not qualify for hunting. The stringent 200m qualification serves as a more rigorous standard, emphasizing the importance of consistency and skill in long-range shooting. This approach prioritizes safety, ethical considerations, and the ability to make clean and responsible kills, aligning with the principles of ethical hunting practices.

To qualify to hunt a 200m target, which is the size of average vitals, a hunter must demonstrate the skill to hit the target successfully on the first attempt. This level of marksmanship proficiency ensures that the hunter possesses the accuracy and precision required to ethically and effectively harvest the game from a significant distance. Meeting these criteria underscores the shooter’s ability to assess variables such as windage, elevation, and ballistics, all while maintaining a deep understanding of the animal’s anatomy for a humane and swift kill. Failing the above, we reserve the right to cancel any hunts.

• After hours all rifles must be locked in the central safe at the lodge by the lodge manager or designated person.

• No alcohol allowed on hunting vehicles!

• The hunting guide will assess the hunters’ condition after the previous evening’s drinking festivities, and if the guide deems their condition unsuitable, they retain the right to prohibit them from continuing the hunt.

• No littering on the farm. All empty packets and bottles are to be left on the vehicle.
